Supervised by Diana Garza-Louis, LPC-S Hi, I'm Kristen! (she/her) I am a bilingual therapist who has experience working with children, teens, adults and families of varying languages, cultures and backgrounds. With over 20 years of experience, I have dedicated my life to improving the lives of children and their caregivers. I have almost 15 years experience working in the public school system as a Parent Support Specialist, Dual Language Classroom Teacher, and Bilingual School Counselor. I have experience working with refugee families, families experiencing domestic violence, and families receiving special education services. I specialize in play therapy, nuero-divergent brains, and Gottman focused couples work. My goal is to provide children, parents, and adults with the tools that are needed to live a joy-filled, growth focused life. I utilize play therapy, sandtray therapy, and activity therapy. |
I approach counseling through an attachment based lens, while using Interersonal Neurobiology throughout my work. I am always looking to grow and learn more, currently I am trained in Child Parent Relationship Training (CPRT), Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) and Gottman Institute Levels 1 and 2. I received my Bachelor’s of Arts in Human Services from St. Edward's University in Austin, Tx and completed my Master of Arts in Counseling at Texas State University in San Marcos, Tx.
