Clinical supervision can be a wonderful environment to process and learn about multicultural competency. Sandtray play therapy and expressive arts offers and even richer way to explore your own multicultural identity and how to apply that to work with our clients. Several sandtray play therapy examples will be discussed and practiced by participants during this training. These examples can be used in a dyad, a group, or individually.

This workshop will explore how parents cope with trauma and loss in the perinatal period through the use of sandtray therapy as a therapeutic intervention. Real case examples of clients' sandtray work will be presented and dynamics of traumatic birth experiences, pregnancy loss, termination for medical reasons, stillbirth, NICU trauma, infant loss, fertility struggles and trauma that gets reactivated in pregnancy and childbirth will be discussed. This training with offer a unique way to process and learn the dynamics of reproductive trauma and loss. The training will be full of case examples, pictures and videos of clients trays and creation of your own trays, even virtually! No prior training in perinatal mental health or sandtray is required and it will give great examples to start a deep dive into that type of work if you are interested in either. Approved for PMH-C renewal credits and the advanced psychotherapy requirement for certification. 6 hours of multicultural competency are included.
Sandtray Play Therapy for Survivors of Sexual Abuse: For All Ages & Other Multicultural Considerations

Unfortunately sexual abuse is a common experience for children and it has a lasting impact on individuals throughout their lifespan. Sandtray play therapy is a great tool for survivors of sexual abuse/trauma and can be used for children, teens and adults alike. This workshop will teach sandtray play therapy skills to use with survivors of all ages while keeping multicultural considerations in mind.
Sandtray Therapy for Couples with Pregnancy Loss

Pregnancy loss at any gestational age impacts parents in so many ways, and couples can grieve in different ways. When couples are able to share their narratives together, they may learn aspects about each others’ trauma that they did not previously know.
Sandtray is a wonderful way for couples to co-process shared trauma and grief they have experienced after pregnancy loss.
