Madeline Rhoden Moulton, LPC # 92399

Madeline (she/her) is a Licensed Professional Counselor with
experience working with children, teens, young adults, and families at a nonprofit as well as in private practice. Prior to joining Open Heart Counseling, she worked with children and adolescents who had experienced sexual trauma, abuse, or had witnessed violence. Madeline’s expertise is partnering with clients who have experienced trauma, sexual assault, grief and loss, struggling with life transitions such as divorce, depression, anxiety, and emotional regulation. She also enjoys supporting parents.

Madeline is trained in EMDR Level 1, Trauma-Focused Cognitive
Behavioral Therapy, and attachment-based modalities. She regularly utilizes play therapy, expressive therapies such as sandtray and art therapy, and body-based work to allow clients to process experiences without having to find the "right" words. She values providing opportunities for experiential learning, relationship repair, and developing self-compassion.
Madeline prioritizes creating trust and a sense of felt safety with clients. She works from a person-centered, trauma sensitive, and attachment-based approach. She invites clients to explore new strategies and ways of understanding themselves, others, and the world around them. Madeline believes it a privilege to come alongside clients as they navigate life’s challenges, especially when supporting young people with their big thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.

Madeline received her Bachelor of Science in both Psychology and Child Development from Texas Christian University and a Master of Education in Human Development Counseling with an emphasis on Clinical Mental Health at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee.
