Childhood sexual abuse has major impacts on one's life, not only in childhood, but over the lifespan. Often, people are unaware that the effects of sexual abuse will often resurface in the perinatal period. This presentation will explore the unique dynamics that survivors of sexual abuse may encounter during their reproductive journey and in parenthood.
Participants will be able to:
1. Identify common symptoms of childhood sexual abuse
2. Review how symptoms of sexual abuse can present in the perinatal period
3. Discuss ways clinicians can facilitate survivors in coping with lingering trauma from sexual abuse
4. Explore case examples of survivors in various stages of their reproductive/parental journey

A baby(ies) going to the NICU increases the risk of parents experiencing postpartum PTSD, anxiety, depression, and OCD. Learn about the dynamics of NICU trauma and clinical interventions that will support families through this journey.
Objectives:
1. Review common reasons babies are admitted to the NICU
2. Learn the dynamics experienced in the NICU that impact the mental health of the parents
3. Explore clinical interventions that will help support families that are experiencing postpartum PTSD or other perinatal mood and anxiety disorders.
