A note from Lacey, the founder and the team at Open Heart Counseling,

At Open Heart Counseling of Austin, we have a collective of amazing associate therapists that are contracted to provide services at our location in southwest Austin. Each therapists works with people from several ages, backgrounds, cultures, races, sexual & gender identities, body sizes, abilities and faiths. Lacey considers herself an inclusive therapist and a white ally to marginalized and oppressed communities and brings on associates that are as well. While we are not able to walk exactly in your shoes because we have different experiences and upbringings, we will always approach learning about you with curiosity, validation, and an open heart. You are always welcome to share how your experience as a marginalized person impacts your mental health and we will continue to have a working knowledge around the experiences of oppressed persons so you do not feel the need to expend your emotional labor to educate us. We will also continue to work hard to be aware of how our privileges impact our own experiences and culture and your experience as well as our therapeutic relationship.
